Because of the closure of Seabeck Elementary, April of 2007 was the only chance the 5th graders of the school would have had to be introduced to Outdoor Education at Camp Colman.   Seabeck was the only school in the area that sent 6th graders.  All others send the fifth grade.  So the 2007 Seabeck fifth graders would have missed out if not for the help of the community.

Sponsors joined together to put on a gala event--a five-course meal complete with Klahowya Secondary School's jazz band and choir performing during dinner.  Tickets were sold for admission, and all proceeds from these sales went towards the kids' trip to Camp Colman.

The turnout was amazing and the Conference Center dining room was filled!  The students had a great time at Camp Colman, and for the entire community, it truly was an Affair to Remember!
